Quality Standards

All of our furniture is subjected to regularly repeated tests covering product safety, design, environmental protection as well as public health and safety. The design and use of high-quality materials ensure the kitchen furniture you have purchased fulfill the particularly demanding requirements specified by the quality and testing regulation RAL-GZ 430. The Golden M is the quality stamp of the German Furniture Quality Assurance Association (DGM) which is part of the German Quality Assurance Association RAL. The quality assurance RAL-GZ 430 (stands for “General quality assurance and test criteria for furniture”) focuses during the testing of the furniture on stability, service life and the meeting of limit values of health-hazarduous substances (formaldehyde, residues of solvents etc.), volatile compounds (alkanes, esters, terpene, ketones, hydrocarbones etc.) and biocides, CFC, flame retardents and heavy metals. This long-lasting product was manufactured according to our corporate values of environment protection, sustainability as well as respect and support for social responsibility and social ethics.

Cabinet Fronts

The real-wood fronts are manufactured exclusively from first-class and well matured solid wood or a veneered base plate. The surfaces are sealed with a resistant varnishing system. Wood is a naturally grown, renewable material. As a consequence, the structure and color of the material always vary slightly (this natural variations are unavoidable.) The dimensions are also subject to minor deviations. Different lighting would also lead to changes in colors and reflections on natural surfaces. These variances are unmistakable and typical characteristics that emphasize the individuality and natural flair of these kinds of furniture fronts. The thickness of the kitchen cabinet fronts varies between 19 and 22 mm (between about 3/4 inches to 5/6 inches.)

Corpus

Sides, fixed and removable shelves are made of 19 mm (about 3/4 inch) thick wood fiberboard. Customers are have a full choice to determine the width, height, inside depth and corpus depth during planning. Both sides of the surfaces are coated with easy-to-clean melamine resin. All visible edges are finished with plastic profiles sealed in state-of-the-art coating processes. The particularly high-level of stability of the corpus is achieved by means of an intricate dowel joint in combination with an 8 mm (1/3 inch) thick vented back wall. The corpus is also optionally available with partially lacquered, veneered or flush with front coated surfaces.
Each usable storage level of the 19 mm bases and shelves of the wall units are designed for loads up to 25 kg (55 lbs.) Glass shelves are 6 mm (1/4 inch) thick and designed for evenly distributed loads up to 15 kg (33 lbs.) The load capacity of wire baskets and revolving shelves are provided in the accompanying assembly instructions and instructions for use. All shelves (wood or glass) are fitted ex-works with safety shelf supports. This feature ensures they are safeguarded against damage in transit and prevents them from falling or tipping out unintentionally when in use. Each individual shelf is height-adjustable.

Hinges

All furniture doors are equipped with soft close dampers. To be able to set the soft closing feature for each individual front, it is possible to activate and deactivate the damper mechanism on all hinges by means of an integrated override lever. The hinges are adjustable in 3 dimensions and, thanks to clip technology, the furniture doors are easy to fit. Depending on the type of cupboard, the opening angle varies between 110°and 170°to guarantee easy access to the contents. The hinges are lubricated for life by the manufacturer and consequently require no maintenance.

Drawers / pull-outs

The frames for the drawers and pull-outs are made of metal profiles finished with a permanently coloured coating. They slide effortlessly on maintenance-free full pull-out runners fitted with self-closing and damper systems. Finished on the top and bottom with an easy-to-clean melamine resin coating, the 16 mm (2/3 inch) thick base of the drawers/pull-outs also lends the entire system an extremely high level of stability. All drawer panels are width and height adjustable. It is also possible to adjust the angle of inclination of pull-out panels. Including their own weight, the guide rails of the drawers and pull-outs are designed to withstand the following loads:

  • Drawers (corpus depth up to 56 cm (22 inches): 40 kg (88 lbs)
  • Pull-outs up to 60 cm (24 inches) width (corpus depth up to 56 cm (22 inches): 40 kg (88 lbs)
  • Pull-outs wider than 60 cm (24 inches): 70 kg (154 lbs)
  • Extra deep drawers + pull-outs (from corpus depth at 68 cm (27 inches): 70 kg (154 lbs)

On request, it is possible to add additional articles to drawers and pull-outs such as anti-slip mats, cross- dividers, bottle racks and cutlery inserts made of plastic or solid wood; an electric “servo-drive” opening/closing mechanism is also optionally available.

Flap door systems

All flap door systems on offer are fully dampened; it is possible to precisely set their opening and closing functions by making fine adjustments to the energy storage mechanism (spring assembly). Every piece of furniture is supplied with a corresponding operating manual.

Wall shelf racks

The 25 mm (1 inch) thick shelf racks and the 50 mm (2 inches) thick panel elements are designed to be used in combination with the articles shelf mounting brackets (SMB) and panel mounting brackets (PMB) as a shelf rack system. It is possible to correct the angle of inclination and make horizontal adjustments via the fittings. Do not install unsupported elements; attach to at least one additional lateral or upper fixing. Plan two supports per meter (3 ft.) of shelf length. A further support is required for each additional 50 cm (2 inches) of shelf length. The approved, evenly distributed surface load is then 15 kg (33 lbs.) load for each pair of supports.

Plinth system

The plinth panels are 16 mm (2/3 inch) thick. The lower end of the plinth panel generally forms a sealing profile. It offers good protection against moisture. A variable, finely adjustable adapter system makes it possible to combine and align the heights of the plinth anywhere between 75 mm (3 inches) and 250 mm (9 3/4 inches.) The plinth panels are secured to the cupboard unit by means of side and front fixing clips. It is possible to remove and replace the plinth system at any time to allow work to be carried out underneath the installed cupboards.
